Hey, welcome to my website. I tell jokes and write things. Here’s a more long-winded version of that:
Suraj Kolarkar is a stand-up comedian and actor known for his sharp wit, captivating storytelling, and magnetic stage presence. He has appeared on Netflix’s God’s Favourite Idiot alongside Melissa McCarthy, and in the Apple TV/Paramount series Shantaram with Charlie Hunnam.
Suraj has performed across Australia, from the iconic Melbourne Town Hall for SBS to the unique challenge of doing stand-up aboard a moving train for Triple M. His comedy blends personal anecdotes, cultural commentary, and a touch of chaos—drawing laughs as he dissects everything from everyday observations to his own identity.
Before comedy, Suraj worked as a civil engineer—a career path his mum still brings up regularly. Though hesitant at first about his switch to the stage, she came around after an inspiring Bollywood film convinced her that maybe, just maybe, her son was destined to be the hero of his own story (or at least crack a few good jokes along the way).
He has also performed in a variety of corporate settings, hosting conferences, dinners and speaking at the Parliament alongside the Queensland Premier.
